SCREAM NOTE Cursed Pages and Collectibles
Every item that feeds the Scream Note — where to find pages and how to spend them.
Items in SCREAM NOTE are not swords or health kits — they are cursed pages torn from the Scream Note itself. Demons litter the haunted neighborhood house with these sheets so players turn on each other instead of reaching the exit. Understanding page behavior is understanding the economy of fear that drives every match.
This guide covers pickup rules, inventory behavior, scare categories tied to pages, loot routing with map knowledge, and item etiquette for cooperative vs elimination lobbies.
What cursed pages do
A cursed page is a single-use authorization to write one player’s name and trigger one jumpscare from the catalog of 222+ options. After confirmation, the page consumes and the monster pipeline starts. Full UI flow lives in the Scream Note mechanic guide.
Pages are the only offensive item that matters in elimination mode. In cooperative escape, they are deterrents — holding a page is mutual assured destruction.
Pickup and inventory rules
- Interact to pick up — default E key; see controls.
- Multiple pages stack in inventory before use.
- Visibility matters — other players see you looting if they have line of sight.
- Audio telegraph — pickups may emit sound; crouch loot when stealth matters.
Patch notes on the updates hub may adjust drop rates or inventory caps — verify after major updates.
Scare categories on each page
When activating a page, you choose a scare type, not a separate item. Categories include environmental stingers, creature appearances, clown variants, window faces, shoulder taps, and optional extreme PC-reach effects. Rankings sit on the jumpscare tier list.
Think of scare types as item rolls — the page is the currency, the scare is the spell.
Loot routes by floor
Combine with the map guide:
| Floor | Loot priority | Risk |
|---|---|---|
| Ground | High page count | Low rail danger |
| Mid | Medium | Chase friendly halls |
| Upper | Low but contested | Bridge hazards |
Run ground loops in the first three minutes while strike counts are zero. Mid-floor pages reward pairs — one loots, one watches stairwell. Upper-floor pages are bait in elimination lobbies.
Cooperative item etiquette
- Announce pickups.
- Bank one page for defense without naming targets.
- Never hoard three pages silently — groups will assume betrayal.
If someone hoards, apply social pressure before spending your own pages reactively.
Elimination item economy
- Spend pages on strike-two targets first.
- Delay high-tier scares until movement traps align on map hazards.
- Keep one page for self-defense if you reach strike two.
Pair spending with winning strategies and voice misdirection from co-op multiplayer.
Non-page items
SCREAM NOTE focuses on notebook pages — there is no traditional weapon loot. Interactive doors, ladders, and exit triggers are environmental objectives, not inventory items. Streamer Mode adds audience redeems, not physical pickups — see Streamer Mode.
Pages are ammunition. Loot like you expect war, spend like you expect betrayal — because you should.
Quick loot checklist
Before climbing to upper floors, confirm ground-floor loops are clear, call out page pickups in cooperative lobbies, and sync with the escape walkthrough leader so hoarders do not split the group.
